Philosophy

The philosophy of chiropractic is different from the philosophy associated with modern medicine. Most Americans have been raised to believe that drugs and surgery are essential to maintain health, this is the philosophy of modern medicine. Chiropractic philosophy maintains that the human body is intelligent and can heal itself.

Health depends on an optimally functioning nervous system, especially the spine and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body.

The structure of the spine influences how the body functions and its ability to heal itself. If the structure of the spine is shifted (subluxated) it interferes with the nerve supply extending from the spine to the rest of the body.

The nerve supply is the key communication link in the mind-body relationship. It is instrumental in maintaining health and in the healing process.

Here are some simple philosophical differences between modern medicine and chiropractic:

MODERN MEDICINE VS CHIROPRACTIC

Body is made up of parts Body is a whole (holistic)

Takes over the body’s wisdom Recognizes and frees the body’s wisdom
