(The word NUCCA is an acronym for National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association.) This is a system of precision low force chiropractic adjustments. There are no forceful movements or twisting of the body framework, making this one of the most gentle chiropractic techniques available. This effective procedure is gentle enough for all spines to benefit from, including infants and seniors.

Many people think of chiropractic as forceful twisting and jolting motions, this is not so with the NUCCA technique. If you are already familiar with chiropractic or have received care before, this technique will be a pleasant surprise.

This technique has also made chiropractic care for infants and seniors a safe and practical possibility. Studies have shown that newborn infants often enter the world with spinal trauma due to the birth process. Even under the best conditions, birthing can be difficult for the infant. If an injury to the delicate infant's neck occurs as a result of birth trauma, there will be nerve interference and problems will develop. A 1987 German study has shown that these neck injuries can led to vomiting, hyperactivity, sleeplessness and lowered resistance to infections, especially those of the ears, nose and throat. The German study also documented how adjusting the infant led to improvement.

With this gentle technique there is nothing to be concerned about, even if a person has bone weakening conditions such as osteoporosis.
